Uncalendered Nomex® Aramid Paper 411 is the meta-aramid insulation paper from DuPont known worldwide as one of their most recognized insulation materials, and this material serves as a basis for comparison for all the other competing aramid papers. Being uncalendered, this sheet retains the open structure of its fibers allowing for deep and even penetration of the resin and varnish into the winding thus forming a thorough layer of bonding and not merely coating.

Dielectric strength is 9 kV/mm for thinner sheets and 7 kV/mm for 23 mil at AC rapid-rise testing (ASTM D149), while full-wave impulse strength is 16–18 kV/mm. Tensile strength goes from 18 N/cm (for 5 mil) to 57 N/cm (for 23 mil) (ASTM D828). Shrinkage at 240°C does not exceed 0.6% in machine direction for all gauges.
