NHN Insulation Paper Manufacturer in India
Nomex + Polyimide + Nomex Laminate — Equivalent to AHA Composite Insulation Paper
Harnawa Insulations is a reliable manufacturer of NHN insulation paper in India and manufactures this three-layered composite consisting of Nomex, Polyimide, and Nomex laminate as one of our Laminated Insulation Paper Composites series. The NHN is made on the same principles as our AHA Composite Polyimide Insulation Paper with a polyimide film as the core surrounded by two layers of aramid paper (Nomex).
What is NHN Insulation Paper?
The meaning of NHN is associated with the laminate layers composition that includes Nomex paper + polyimide film (the letter “H” denotes the fact that it features a heat-resistant core) + Nomex paper. Actually, this laminate structure can be alternatively called AHA (Aramid + polyimide + Aramid). The reason is that “Nomex” is just the trade name of aramid paper produced by DuPont, so these two naming systems can be used interchangeably.
NHN insulation paper is NHN equivalent of AHA in terms of laminate structure, performance class, and applications – they both belong to Class H (180°C) laminates.

A Note on “F Class” Searches
NHN insulation paper is produced and classified as a Class H (180°C) insulation — which is an improved thermal classification when compared to that of the typical Class F (155°C) insulation paper. In case you are considering F-Class insulation criteria: NHN outperforms F-Class insulations thermally, thus it is a good option if the application demands higher thermal insulation from Class F insulation.
Applications
- Slot Insulation — High temperature motors and generators
- Inter-Turn Insulation — Between turns of winding in high-temperature application
- Liner Insulation — Electrical insulation material for high duty electrical appliances
- Insulation Barriers — Separation of high voltage sections in transformers & coils

Frequently Asked Questions
1.Is NHN insulation paper same as AHA insulation paper?
Both are same as “NHN” stands for Nomex + Polyimide + Nomex & “AHA” stands for Aramid + Polyimide + Aramid paper. These are laminates of three layers each & the term “Nomex” is just another name for aramid paper manufactured by DuPont company.
2.Will NHN insulation paper be good choice for F-Class?
NHN insulation paper is rated Class H with 180°C whereas F-Class is rated at 155°C. So NHN insulation paper can be used for F-Class.
3.Are there different types of NHN insulation papers available with different thickness?
Six grades are available from 0.14mm to 0.32mm and having breakdown voltage of ≥7kv to ≥9kV.
4.Why choose NHN insulation paper from India Manufacturer rather than importing from abroad?
Harnawa is an NHN Insulation Paper Manufacturer in India and provides all the facilities that an imported one will provide like shorter lead time, no import duty & no shipping charges.
